Outline of The Associate Leadership of the Society of the Sacred Heart They are an international order, the headquarters for their province is in Canada. The Associate Committee consists of a Chair, 4 Regional Representatives, 2 RSCJs and a Liaison to the Provincial Team On the local level there are 2 or 3 Co-Coordinators. There are 140 Associates for the United States and Canada Province.

Outline of Mercy Associate Leadership Full-time Director and four volunteer area coordinators.
What are the responsibilities of the team members? The Director is responsible for the administrative tasks of Association in the West Midwest Community. Area Coordinators deal more directly with day-to-day issues in a geographic area.
Financial Responsibility: The Mercy Community provides a salary to the Director The area coordinators receive a small stipend. Local leaders of each community are provided a reimbursement for associate related expenses.
Which of these positions are appointed, which elected? All are appointed positions.
How is the Associate Community involved in the leadership of the Associates? Associates are encouraged to become local leaders, and area coordinators.

Outline of Associate Leadership: BVM Associate Coordinator Team (ACT): part of the BVM Office of Life and Mission.
ACT consists of four part-time paid positions, for a total of 50 hours.

What are the responsibilities of the ACT? The ACT administers the Orientation of Candidates through discernment to Commitment, responsible for communicating with Associates and BVMs, initiating retreats, days of prayer, socials, and in and out of country immersion trips in collaboration with the Director of Life and Mission.The Associate Coordinating Committee (ACC) is an advisory group to the ACT which meets twice a year.
Financial Responsibility: The BVM Community subsidizes the ACT by providing salaries and other expenses.
Designated liaison to the Governance? One of the Congregational Vice Presidents is the Liaison.
Which of these positions are appointed, which elected? The President and Vice Presidents are elected by the BVMs. BVM Leadership chooses a Vice President to be a liaison to ACT. Associate Coordinators are hired through Human Resources.
How is the Associate Community involved in the leadership of the Associates? Right now, all of the coordinators are associates. This is the first time in the program’s history that there has been no vowed sister sharing the position.
