The covenant ceremony for 6 new Mercy Associates took place in the chapel at Mercy Center in Burlingame on July 31st as part of the Community weekend that also included the celebration for the Sister Jubilarians the next day. The new associates are, Mary Beaudry, Linda Crisostomo, Christine Folan, Cyndi Gonzalez, Janice Palomo and Rev. Julie Webb.
Mary is a retired nurse and presently works in Home Health Services. She volunteers with Second Harvest Food Program and at St. Veronica’s Parish First Communion Program.
Linda is very active in retreat ministry and is the founder of EMmaus Road153, on the road retreats.
Christine works at Mercy High School and sees herself as an encouraging presence to the students.
Cyndi has taught at St. Peter’s school in San Francisco for 40 years and volunteers at St Francis Center in Redwood City.
Janice works in accounting and volunteers as a mentor for high school girls and her son’s Boy Scout Troop.
Julie is an ordained Lutheran pastor, and has worked as interfaith jail chaplain, hospital chaplain and Director of Children’s Ministry.
The ceremony was very lovely and included prayers, music and readings. At the end of the ceremony there was a reception in the Oak room. We welcome the new associates into the Mercy Community with the song we sang in the chapel.
